Title: Alternate Realities
Medium:
Year of Production: 2018

“Hold fast to dreams,
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird,
That cannot fly.”

― Langston Hughes

You can be forgiven for being despondent in these times. After all hope and optimism require a whole lot of creativity, day dreaming and some religion to go with it. But remember that millions of people still made it here. You only need to look closer for you to see that development and progress are taking place all around us. You are in Eko Atlantic right now, an area that used to be nothing but a bothersome body of water. So yes there is progress and you never know what tomorrow holds. Don't stop dreaming and working and dreaming.

Title: Leap of Faith: The Expiration Gamble
Medium:
Year of Production: 2018

Life is precious even for those with limited means. Life is precious and you only need to witness a person fighting for his or her life to realize how badly humans crave a beating heart. The fight for life can take us down several parts, some of which aren't helpful. I have witnessed the desperate taking expired medications in a last ditch attempt to stay alive. It is not pretty. How ironic. But life is precious you see. No wonder the living will do almost anything to sustain consciousness.

Year of Production: 2018

Kunle: …I dropped bye the kid's school today. I have paid their fees. I gave the accountant four cheques. So they can start school tomorrow. They have missed two weeks but they can catch up.
Chika: Oh thank you Jesus! Oh my God, you finally got that contract?! Congratulations!
Kunle: Nope. I sold my car
Chika: What?!
Kunle: Yeah...... The buyer paid half and gave me post-dated cheques for the balance.
Chika: I am sorry…. I …I don't know what to say..
Kunle: It's okay. You can thank me in the night when the kids fall asleep. This time bring your A game. 50 Shades of Grey style…
Chika: …..
Kunle: Did you hear me? I just sold my car and I am feeling vulnerable right now. You have the cure.
Chika: I heard you. Just don't bring those hand cuffs near me. You know I am not into all that 50 Shades of whatever…..
Kunle: Fine. I will settle for 15 Shades of whatever you are willing to do. But I won't go any lower. Chika: Ha ha ha.. Silly man....I can't believe you sold your car. How will you get to work now?
Kunle: It's okay. I hear Ambode’s commercial buses have air conditioners and cute girls. I will survive
Chika: Very funny… I am so relieved. Bless you and all you do for this family...

Title: Made in China
Medium:
Year of Production: 2018

The market is flooded with them. Made in China. They are mostly cheap and arguably 'substandard' goods for mass consumption. But substandard? According to who? Beggars can't be choosers, can they? We are in the fight of our lives. Made in China is how we are surviving. It is the story of how we toiled and maneuvered our way through an impossible economic situation. This is our success story and that story is made in China.

Title: The Wings of Hope
Medium:
Year of Production: 2018

“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you're going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.”
